Residency Special Features:   This residency prepares role model practitioner-educators for academic clinical pharmacy positions. Training is provided in inpatient medicine, ambulatory care, practice management, research, and academia. Numerous elective opportunities are available within the health-system or at College-affiliated external sites. The resident will deliver journal club presentations, case presentations, a resident seminar, and educational in-services to healthcare professionals. The program includes participation in a formal teaching certificate program. Opportunities for didactic teaching and precepting student pharmacists are available.
 
Fringe Benefits:   The resident receives a faculty appointment including medical benefits, vacation, and professional development. Other fringe benefits commensurate with this appointment.
 
Special Requirements for Acceptance:   Eligibility for licensure in Missouri, completed application, curriculum vitae, cover letter, three letters of reference, and copy of transcripts.

Site Special Features:   The primary training site, Mercy Hospital St. Louis, is a 979-bed teaching and research hospital and level I trauma center. Areas of emphasis include academia, inpatient medicine and ambulatory care. Ambulatory care experiences are conducted at two clinics within the health-system. Both ambulatory care sites offer patients continuity of care within Mercy Hospital. Elective opportunities available include infectious disease, critical care, neonatology, pediatrics and other specialty areas. Rotations are tailored to the individual resident's interests.
