Residency Special Features:   The PGY1 program provides the resident the opportunity to develop practice skills in a variety of areas including: hospital practice, infectious diseases, critical care, neonatal intensive care, medicine, surgery, cardiology, oncology, perinatology, informatics, pharmacy management, and ambulatory care (anti-coagulation and medication therapy management). The residency is highly flexible to accommodate the interests of the resident. A teaching certificate course is offered with opportunities for APPE and IPPE student precepting.
Staffing requirements include two weekend shifts per month and one additional shift  per week.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   Applicants shall be graduates of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)-accredited Doctor of Pharmacy degree program. Application to include letter of intent stating why you are choosing Nebraska Methodist Hospital Residency program and what are your long term goals, Curriculum Vitae, 3 letters of recommendations with a minimum of 2 letters  from professionals who can attest to your clinical abilities, and pharmacy school transcripts. Licensure in the state of Nebraska is recommended by start of residency program but applicants must be licensed by July 31. * Applicants shall participate and adhere to all rules of the Resident Matching Program process.

Site Special Features:   Nebraska Methodist Hospital and Methodist Women's Hospital are non-profit, acute care community hospitals within the Nebraska Methodist Health System. Methodist Hospital leads the region in surgical procedures and provides a variety of adult patient care services. Methodist Hospital is the residency primary site. Methodist Women's Hospital is the only dedicated hospital in the region focused on providing care for women. Women's hospital delivers more infants than any other hospital in the region and offers neonatal intensive care services in addition to a full array of women's surgical procedures. The pharmacy department is associated with Creighton University School of Pharmacy and Allied Health, providing APPE and IPPE student experiences.
