Residency Special Features:   Our residency develops pharmacy clinicians able to excel as confident, independent, and responsible practitioners. Residents will acquire leadership, teaching, and professional skills needed to succeed as general practitioners serving diverse patient populations. Learning experiences include Internal Medicine-Nephrology, Critical Care, Infectious Diseases, Internal Medicine-Cardiology, and Informatics. Longitudinal experiences include Practice management, Cardiac and Renal Transplantation, Clinical Staffing, and Research Project management. The resident will have opportunities to precept pharmacy students and complete a teaching certificate program.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   Applications will only be accepted through the Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application Service, PhORCAS. The resident must graduate from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy, and be eligible for Arkansas licensure by July 31st. Application materials should include academic transcript, curriculum vitae, letter of intent, and three references from prior employers and educators. An on-site interview is required for program candidates. Employment is contingent on successful completion of a required employee physical, drug/nicotine screen, and background check.

BHMC-LR services include: Level II Trauma Center with 90 adult ICU beds monitored by eICU technology, Heart and Renal Transplant Center, Stroke Center of Excellence, Bariatric Center of Excellence, and Orthopedic Center of Excellence. BHMC-LR serves as a clinical clerkship site for two colleges of pharmacy.
