Residency Special Features:   The mission of the Pharmacy Residency Program at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport is to provide quality patient care, education, and research. The PGY1 Residency Program is designed to provide the resident with the skills and knowledge required to become a competent pharmacy practitioner in today‚Äôs ever-changing medical community. In order to comply with the requirements of the program, residents are required to complete a set of 8 core one-month rotations as well as 4 elective one-month rotations. As part of the longitudinal experience, residents are required to complete a research project and present the results at a regional residency conference. In addition to the clinical rotations, residents will also provide staffing services. We also have a teaching certificate and an affiliation with University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM) School of Pharmacy.
 
Fringe Benefits:   Vacation/sick time: 15-12 working days. Residents and their immediate families are eligible for all insurance programs including health/major medical insurance and life insurance. Registration expenses to ASHP Midyear Clinical meeting along with registration and travel expenses to the Regional Residency Conference are provided.
 
Special Requirements for Acceptance:   Graduation from an accredited college of pharmacy (Pharm.D. or comparable experience preferred), United States citizenship or permanent residency, eligibility for Louisiana licensure, college transcript(s), curriculum vitae, letter of intent/interest, three letters of recommendation, State of Louisiana official application/release of information.
