Residency Special Features:   The goal of the PGY2 residency in cardiovascular medicine is to develop advanced cardiology practice skills in qualified pharmacists as preparation for a career in specialized pharmacy practice or in academics with a focus on teaching and provision of service. This residency gives in-depth experiences in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The resident will be exposed to management of diverse acute and chronic cardiovascular diseases (e.g., heart failure, coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, hypertension, dyslipidemia, vascular disease). Residents present formal lectures, inservices, grand rounds, prepares a major research project, and serve as preceptor for pharmacy interns.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   PhORCAS application process is used for this residency. Successful applicants will have a Pharm.D. degree from an ACPE accredited College ofPharmacy, completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency, and be eligible for licensure in the state of Oklahoma. If invited after initial applicant screening, an on-site interview in Oklahoma City, OK will be required.
