Residency Special Features:   

University Health System (UHS) provides multi-disciplinary care as the lead Level 1 Adult & Pediatric Trauma Center for South Texas. Additionally, UHS is recognized as a Joint Commission & AHA/ASA certified Comprehensive Stroke Center. Required rotations include experiences within surgical trauma, neuroscience, medical, cardiac intensive care & emergency medicine. Elective rotations include infectious diseases, cardiothoracic surgery, & pediatrics. Longitudinal experiences include critical care academic pharmacotherapy, clinical practice, practice management, professional development & research project.
