Residency Special Features:   St. David's South Austin Medical Center (SDSAMC) provides the resident with a solid foundation in acute patient care. Required learning experiences include: Hospital Pharmacy Practice, Internal Medicine, Pharmacy Administration and Management, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine and Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant. Longitudinal learning experiences are Residency Research Project, Antimicrobial Stewardship, Inpatient Staffing and Academic Teaching Certificate. The elective learning experiences are flexible based on the resident's goals and options include: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Shock Trauma, Palliative Care, Pharmacy Informatics and Free Standing Emergency Department. SDSAMC is a preceptor site for University of Texas IPPE and APPE pharmacy students. The resident has the opportunity to present their research project at the ASHP mid-year meeting, the TSHP Alcalde meeting and the Celebrating Pharmacy Research Excellence Day at University of Texas.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   Applicant should have Doctor of Pharmacy degree, criteria to apply for Texas Board of Pharmacy License or current Texas Board of Pharmacy License. Applicant should have a minimum of 3.0 GPA. Please submit transcripts, curriculum vitae, 3 letters of recommendation, and college of pharmacy academic transcript.
