Residency Special Features:   The residency program has been designed to create competent practitioners working as integral members of the health care team. Pharmacy residents are based at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Forth Worth and are affiliated with Texas Tech School of Pharmacy. Residents will complete 10 rotations and one major project. Available rotations include: internal medicine, critical care (MSICU, Trauma, neuro ICU), nutrition, neonatal ICU, hospital management, transplant clinic, emergency department, congestive heart failure, oncology, and infectious disease. In addition, the resident will have the opportunity to pursue a teaching certificate. Residents are required to staff every 3rd weekend, one evening shift per month and one major holiday.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   

Pharm.D. degree and eligibility for Texas licensure. Application materials include: letter of intent, Curriculum vitae, three letters of recommendation, and official transcripts from all pharmacy education.

Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth is one of two flagship hospital members of Texas Health Resources (THR), one of the largest faith-based, fully integrated, not-for-profit health care systems in the United States. Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth (THFW) is a 720-bed private, non-profit, tertiary care, Level-II trauma center. In addition THFW has >100 adult ICU beds and is designated as a Cycle III Chest Pain Center, a Primary Stroke Center, and an Acute Heart Failure Center. The Department of Pharmacy Services is an established and vital component of patient care at THFW. Clinical pharmacists are an integral part of the health care team and provide core clinical services in renal and pharmacokinetic dosing, TPN management, antibiotic stewardship, and both anticoagulation/procoagulation management. Pharmacists take part in patient care rounds with multidisciplinary teams and are actively involved in the training of pharmacy students from schools across the state of Texas.
