Residency Special Features:   

This residency program provides residents with a broad, in-depth experience in pediatric hospital pharmacy. Core rotations include general pediatrics, PICU, NICU, hematology/oncology, and several longitudinal experiences. Multiple electives are available and tailored to the resident's interests. A publishable research project is required. Residents are encouraged to assist with pharmacy student education and have the opportunity to earn a teaching certificate through The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy.

McLane Children's Medical Center is the largest children's hospital in Central Texas and offers a level II trauma center, level IV NICU, PICU, two-floor medical surgical unit, and a multi-specialty outpatient clinic and infusion center. The hospital serves as a primary academic setting for Texas A&M College of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics and hosts pharmacy students from the University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy and the Texas A&M University Rangel College of Pharmacy.
