Residency Special Features:   

The residency program is designed to provide a range of experiences ensuring program graduates are competent generalists while allowing flexibility to align with resident interests and prepare graduates who wish to seek specialized residency training. Required rotations include: orientation, internal medicine, infectious disease, administration, MICU and either emergency medicine or Trauma ICU. Elective opportunities include: cardiology, oncology, informatics, nutrition support, ambulatory care, corporate/supply chain. The resident will complete longitudinal drug information, research and staffing experiences. Additional projects include seminar presentations, journal clubs, drug monographs and medication use evaluations. All residents will select and complete a research project including poster presentation at ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting, platform presentation at a regional residency conference and manuscript preparation and submission.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   

Graduation from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy (or commensurate combination of education and clinical experience) with a minimum GPA of 3.1 on a 4.0 scale. If applicants' college of pharmacy does not utilize GPA then class ranking must be provided. Eligibility for Arizona licensure. Completed PhORCAS application including letter of intent, curriculum vitae, and three letters of recommendation with at least one from a clinical rotation preceptor and one from a work supervisor.

Chandler Regional Medical Center is a Level I Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center. Residents will have the opportunity to build precepting skills through interactions with students from local colleges of pharmacy. Off-site rotations at other Dignity Health facilities may be arranged based on resident interests.
