Multisite: Scottsdale Osborn is a 337 bed acute care facility in Scottsdale, Arizona. It is one of Phoenix-metro areas longest established Level I Trauma Center, Primary Stroke Center, and Accredited Chest Pain Center. SOMC has the largest ICU consisting of neuro, trauma, and general medical ICU beds. Scottsdale Shea Medical Center is a 433 bed facility with a Level III Neonatal ICU, pediatric ICU, cardiovascular ICU, bone marrow transplant, and leukemia service line. The wide variety of rotations at various institutions.
Residency Special Features:   This PGY2 program is designed to train, develop, and cultivate the resident into a competent critical care clinical specialist in broad areas of direct patient care, academia, research, and administration. The resident will be challenged with diverse critical care patients through rotations in emergency medicine and trauma, medical, and cardiac ICUs. Resident will precept and mentor pharmacy students and PGY1 residents in addition to obtaining a teaching certification and provide ACPE-accredited CME. The resident will have direct involvement with research, medication safety, protocol and process developments, and committee representation related to critical care.
