Residency Special Features:   The SPH residency program aims to develop practitioners that are able to provide excellent patient care with a focus on rural community health care. Core rotations: critical care, emergency medicine, internal med, surgical, antimicrobial stewardship, ambulatory care, and behavioral health. Residents have a total of 8 weeks for elective rotation(s) and these are developed based on resident interest. Additional experiences include precepting pharmacy students, obtaining advance practice certificates in teaching and antibiotic stewardship, and participation with formulary management and practice administration.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   Pharm.D. or equivalent degree, Montana pharmacist licensure eligible, completed PhORCAS application (PhORCAS letters of recommendation accepted), letter of intent that explains why you chose to apply to the SPH residency program, curriculum vitae. U.S. citizenship required.

Site Special Features:   St. Peter's Health (SPH), located in the capital city of Helena, MT, offers convenient access to national parks (Glacier and Yellowstone) as well as a variety of outdoor recreational opportunities. SPH is comprised of a community based, acute care hospital and ambulatory clinics and is the sole health care entity for the Lewis and Clark and surrounding counties. The residency program at SPH offers residents a progressive pharmacy practice facilitated by highly qualified preceptors. Candidates applying to the SPH residency should demonstrate a strong interest in rural community hospital care as this is the focus of our program.
