Residency Special Features:   This specialty residency will prepare the resident to become a vital team member within the Emergency Department by offering a variety of experiences including Emergency Department service and leadership, critical care, pediatrics, toxicology, and pre-hospital services and mass casualty planning.

Site Special Features:   Renown Health is a not-for-profit health system and accountable care organization that has two acute care hospitals.  Renown Regional Medical Center is a tertiary referral hospital that services over a million people in a 100,000 square mile area with the Emergency Department at Renown Regional servicing over 100,000 patients per year.  With this large service area, the resident should expect a wide variety of experiences and patient care opportunities. Renown is a level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, accredited heart failure and chest pain center, and has a Children's Emergency Department and Hospital on site.  Outdoor recreational activities are varied and abundant, including the Lake Tahoe area for hiking, fishing, and skiing.
