Residency Special Features:   

This residency is designed to develop comprehensive skills in pharmacotherapy and bedside assessment in emergency medicine, critical care, transitions of care, and toxicology. Electives in infectious diseases, medication safety, and various fields of emergency medicine are available. Strengths of this program include the flipped model research project, providing high quality education to interdisciplinary teams, and strong working relationships within the pharmacy and emergency department. One emergency medicine conference and ASHP Midyear conference attendance are supported.

UUH is an academic institution associated with various health sciences colleges, Poison Control Center, and Drug Information. ED staff and providers are state and national leaders in their specialties. The department has 53+ beds, over 60,000 visits annually, and pharmacists provide coverage 18 hours daily.
