Residency Special Features:   The resident will become familiar with this diverse and comprehensive program of oncology pharmacy practice in the nation's largest integrated healthcare organization (IHO). A flexible schedule optimizes experiences of special interest for each resident to choose from including adult oncology, pediatric oncology, radiation oncology, renal cell carcinoma, oncology research, drug information, and formulary management. In addition, unique leadership and management skills can be obtained through P&T/medical staff committees, drug utilization management, teaching pharmacy, medical staff, patient and other health professionals, mentoring pharmacy students and professional development training programs. Elective time and off-site opportunities at other Kaiser Permanente facilities are also available for the resident to pursue additional areas of interest.

Site Special Features:   Kaiser Permanente Inland Empire Oncology Pharmacy Practice Residency hosts one residency position. The resident will become familiar with this diverse and comprehensive program of oncology pharmacy practice in the nation’s largest integrated health care organization (IHO). Program Highlights: • Oncology pharmacy services are provided to both adults and pediatrics within the Medical Oncology / Hematology Departments. • There are 5 licensed oncology outpatient pharmacies within our program. • Residents will experience rotations in Regional Oncology Research and Regional Formulary Management. Our scope of services includes but is not limited to the following: • Breast Cancer • Colorectal Cancer • Acute and Chronic Leukemia’s • Lung Cancer • Lymphomas • Ovarian Cancer • Prostate Cancer • Melanoma • Renal, Liver, and Pancreatic Cancers • Antiemetic Therapy • Pain Management • Myelosuppressive Therapy • Nutritional Support Therapy • Antiinfective Therapy in Immunocompromised Patients • Anemia Management During the year, the resident is required to complete a research project to be presented at the Western States Residency Conference in May.
