Multisite: Primary experiences will be within the NorthBay Healthcare system: 2 acute care hospitals (Fairfield & VacaValley) and primary care clinics. Off-site experiences may include Touro University California.
Residency Special Features:   *NMS Code 184713 - PGY1 pharmacy residency program; NMS Code 184721 - PGY1 pharmacy residency with an elective focus in academia. Residents focus their training on the goal of becoming a well-rounded clinical pharmacist proficient in the delivery of comprehensive pharmacotherapeutic care in the acute care setting. Core rotations include: adult general medical & surgical, intensive care, cardiology, pharmacy administration, and anticoagulation clinic. A variety of elective rotations are also offered such as infectious disease, cardiology and transitions of care. Residents in the program also have the opportunity to obtain a teaching certificate through an elective academic longitudinal rotation with Touro University. NMS # 184721 is a collaboration between Touro University California and the sponsor, NorthBay Healthcare, that provides the same PGY1 experiences as the standard NorthBay PGY1 residency, but with an elective emphasis in Academia.  For details on the Academia emphasis, please contact Laura Baumgartner, Pharm.D., BCPS, BCCCP Laura.Baumgartner@tu.edu.  Residents will complete a research and administrative project.  All residents have the opportunity to precept pharmacy interns from the University of the Pacific, Touro University, and University of California, San Francisco.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   Pharm.D., California Pharmacist licensure by October 1st of the residency year. At least 3 letters of recommendation; one required from an employer and two preferably from APPE preceptors.

Site Special Features:   NorthBay Medical Center (NBMC) is located halfway between San Francisco and Sacramento, southeast of the Napa Valley. The community is predominately suburban with some rural areas. NBMC is a Level II trauma center and the only hospital in Solano County that provides advanced cardiovascular services. NorthBay follows the decentralized pharmacy model complemented by a complete electronic health record including CPOE.
