Residency Special Features:   WMMC PGY1 Residency provides rich learning experiences in advanced clinical practice with eMAR, computerized-physician-order-entry, Barcode-Medication-Administration, automated-dispensing system. Core-rotations: Critical-Care, Infectious-Diseases, Internal-Medicine, Emergency-Medicine, Administration; Elective-rotations: Oncology, Geriatrics, Ambulatory-Care, Psychiatry, Informatics. Decentralized pharmacists/Residents provide protocol-driven services in pharmacokinetics; antimicrobial-stewardship; therapies on erythropoietin, nutrition, pain, anticoagulation, insulin, antiepileptics; attending several medical/clinical rounds in Geriatrics, ID, Adult-ICU/PICU/NICU, Stroke, IM, Oncology, Surgical-care, and emergency codes. Longitudinal activities include MUE, P&T, Journal-Club, Readmission, Community-Outreach, preceptorship, WCU teaching-credential and didactic-lecture, research/publication, Quality-Improvement/Quality-Assurance.
