Residency Special Features:   The PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration residency program is designed to provide the resident with the advanced skills and knowledge base to assume high level managerial, supervisory, and leadership responsibilities within a multi-hospital health-system at completion. The health-system pharmacy administration residency builds upon PGY1 residency graduates' competence in the delivery of patient-centered care in pharmacy operational services. Areas of competence emphasized during the program include safe and effective medication-use systems, fquality assurance, the management of human resources, the management of financial resources, use of technology, and advanced leadership. Throughout the year, the resident will focus on the goals and objectives as outlined by ASHP and will also have a significant role in precepting PGY1 residents and pharmacy students.

Tucked away in beautiful Poway on the northern outskirts of the city of San Diego lies Pomerado Hospital - a 107-bed acute care facility. Located ajacent to the hospital is Villa Pomerado, a 129-bed convalescent care center and Pomerado Outpatient Pavilion. palomar Health Downtown Campus. As Polomar Health's founding hospital, Palomar Health Downtown Campus in Escondido first opened its doors in 1950 as Polomar Memorial Hospital with 37 beds. Today, this 319-bed facility provides comprehensive care to more than 22,000inpatients each year. The Palomar Health Downtown Campus specializes in women's, children's, acute rehabilitation, behavioral health and outpatient services. The facility also provides a Standby Emergency Department for non-life threatening medical needs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
