Residency Special Features:   

The Sutter Health PGY2 health-system pharmacy administration residency builds upon PGY1 residency graduates' competence in the delivery of patient-centered care and in pharmacy operational services to prepare residents for future supervisory, managerial, and leadership responsibilities. Areas of competence emphasized during the program include health-system pharmacy leadership, clinical pharmacy administration in acute and ambulatory care settings, strategic sourcing & pharmaceutical contracting, medication safety, formulary management, health plan administration, finance and resource management, professional development, project management, and quality improvement. Upon graduation, residents are prepared for a variety of clinical or operational roles in varied work settings including acute care hospitals, large health systems, health plans, and pharmacy benefit management organizations, with the skills necessary to support their advancement into leadership roles.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   

Applications must be submitted via PhORCAS. Academic transcript, curriculum vitae, 3 reference writers, US citizenship, graduation from an accredited pharmacy school, eligible to take the licensure exam in California.
