Kindred Hospital La Mirada is a long term acute care hospital (LTACH) that treats very complicated, acutely ill patients with multiple comorbidities. Areas of emphasis include pharmacy administration, anticoagulation, nutrition, infectious diseases, and transitions of care. The program is also affiliated with a local college of pharmacy that offers a teaching certificate program, providing the residents opportunities for formal teaching experience. The residents will have opportunities to conduct and present original research throughout the year.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   

U.S. citizenship, Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college, and California pharmacy license. See application for further requirements.

Kindred Hospital La Mirada also services 2 other local facilities in LA and Orange Counties. Most of the time will be spent at La Mirada, however, opportunities will be offered for experience at those other facilities. Our hospital also provides other California Kindred hospitals with remote order entry services after pharmacy hours. The resident will also have the opportunity to precept IPPE and APPE pharmacy students from various colleges while on rotations at Kindred.
