Residency Special Features:   Huntington Hospital's PGY1 pharmacy residency program is designed to give highly motivated residents optimum independence in a supportive and state-of-the-art environment. The overall purpose of the residency program is to develop the necessary skills to become a competent pharmaceutical care practitioner. The residency will emphasize the development of clinical, teaching, and leadership abilities. Learning experiences include drug therapy management and monitoring in acute patient care areas (including general medicine, critical care, pediatrics/neonatology, hematology/oncology, and emergency medicine), infectious diseases, and ambulatory care. The resident also gains experience in practice management as an active member of the pharmacy management team and through various administrative projects. The resident will also conduct pharmacy practice research and serve as preceptors to pharmacy students.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited college of pharmacy, licensure in California by November 1, pharmacy school transcripts, three letters of recommendation. The hospital does not participate in the H-1B Visa program.
