Residency Special Features:   

This is a progressive one-year postgraduate pharmacy practice residency for motivated pharmacy graduates who wish to build upon their previous educational experiences. This flexible program is individualized to meet each resident's needs, taking into consideration previous clinical experiences and future professional goals. By rotating through a variety of practice settings and clinical specialty areas, residents broaden their experiences, gain valuable teaching skills and benefit from the value of a multidisciplinary approach to patient care in an academic medical center.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   

Doctor of Pharmacy Degree. Eligibility for California licensure. PhORCAS submission of all of the following: Pharmacy school transcript, curriculum vitae, letter of application, and three references/letters of recommendation.

Site Special Features:   

UCDMC serves as the primary teaching facility for the Davis Medical School and allied professional programs, and the UCSF School of Pharmacy. The pharmacy program provides CPOE with EPIC Medical Records, comprehensive computerized operations as well as floor-based and specialty clinical services. UCDMC is designated as a Comprehensive Cancer Center by the NCI and operates the only level 1 trauma center for both adult and pediatric emergencies in inland Northern California. UCDMC is close to Lake Tahoe, Napa, and San Francisco. The area has excellent recreational activities, warm summers with low humidity and moderate winters with no snow.
