Residency Special Features:   This ASHP-accredited residency program emphasizes acute care clinical services, with expanding ambulatory opportunities. Residents learn and care for patients in OHSU's adult and pediatric hospitals and offsite geriatric clinic through a mix of longitudinal and 3-8 week precepted experiences in areas such as: drug information, infectious diseases, adult and pediatric intensive care, adult and pediatric oncology/BMT, general medicine, general pediatrics, general surgery, geriatric assessment clinic, nutritional support, cardiology and solid organ transplantation. Experience in managing pharmacy services includes investigational drugs, drug-use policy, medication error prevention, process improvement, interdisciplinary collaboration on medication management projects, operations planning and strategic planning. Pharmacy residents provide a full spectrum of care from routine services to highly sophisticated specialty treatments that are available nowhere else in the state or the region. Residents participate in monthly citywide residency conferences with other metro-area residents. Residents may serve as preceptors to pharmacy students and participate in classroom teaching.
