Residency Special Features:   The resident will have practice opportunities in internal medicine, oncology, critical care, nutrition, anticoagulation, antimicrobial stewardship and management, and assignment to internal medicine hospitalist teams. Additionally, the resident will have flexibility in off-site rotations to complete the resident’s individual needs and interests. The resident will be given a travel stipend to cover a trip to ASHP Midyear and Western States Residency Conference.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   Pharmacy resident will be eligible for Pharm.D. licensure in the state of Washington as well as have U.S. citizenship.

Site Special Features:   SMMC is affiliated with Washington State University COP. Areas of practice available on-site which are unique to SMMC include a large and active neurosurgery program in addition to an active cancer center. The resident will work closely with the hospitalists as well as the critical care unit. The resident actively participates in antimicrobial stewardship rounds with the Chief Medical Officer and an infectious disease specialist as well as with a physician lead journal club.
