Residency Special Features:   

This program emphasizes applying patient care, customer service, and practice innovation skills within an emerging integrated health care delivery system. Residents are trained to be effective in work teams which are charged with planning activities, identifying opportunities for improvement, analyzing alternatives, implementing solutions and evaluating results. Training experiences also emphasize enhancing leadership and practice management skills to become a leader in the profession of pharmacy. Training includes ambulatory care experiences in the family practice medicine clinic, cancer center clinic, hospice program, anticoagulation clinic, and transitions of care as well as acute care experiences in critical care, medicine, surgery, cardiology, inpatient glycemic control, emergency medicine and neonatal intensive care. Residents have opportunities to be involved in prescriptive authority protocols and complete competencies in cardiac arrest, pediatric/neonatal, and nutrition support. Additional opportunities exist in geriatrics/rehab medicine, infectious disease, and pharmacy administration.

Special Requirements for Acceptance:   Eligibility for Washington pharmacist licensure. PhORCAS application required documents include Curriculum Vitae, personal statement, academic transcripts and three letters of  recommendation using standardized reference form.  Please encourage references to provide detailed comments on the recommendation form.
